Welcome Center
The community room at the Arverne East Welcome Center, now called the Coastal Conservation Center, is open daily for public use through an online reservation system between the hours of:
November 1 - March 1: 7am - 6pm
March 2 - October 31: 7am - 8pm
Reservations are required. The room can be used in up to 4-hour increments and must be reserved 5 days in advance.
This 800-square-foot space with waterfront views features floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors opening to a 300-square-foot terrace offering flexible indoor and outdoor use for programming and events. The community room includes the use of a projector, and is partially furnished with lounge seating, side tables, three folding tables and stackable chairs to accommodate 24 people. There is a comfort station adjacent to the space with restrooms and a water fountain. The Arverne East Multi-Purpose Building also features a 30-space parking lot available on a first-come-first-served basis and is a short walk to the Beach 44th Boardwalk and the Arverne East Nature Preserve.
To reserve the welcome center community room, please fill out the request form and agree to the terms of use below.
PLEASE NOTE THAT OUR TERMS OF USE HAVE CHANGED. We recently reviewed our reservation policies and have amended the terms of use. The Coastal Conservation Center is widely available for the community, however we must ensure that all community members have equal access and opportunity to reserve the space. Use is limited to 4-hour increments only. Double bookings will be monitored and any reservation request over 4-hours in a single day will not be honored without prior approval. Additionally, in a continued effort to ensure equitable access, we are implementing a use limit. The number of reservations allowable to a single individual will be limited to 5 bookings every six months. Reservations are not guaranteed. Building management will respond to all requests within 72 hours regarding availability, terms of use, and next steps.
